The West Midlands Branch has initiated four trophies. All are to highlight and promote good Agricultural Engineering practice. The presence of these trophies has several effects:
West Midlands Branch Trophy
An individual or organisation is awarded this trophy at the discretion of the West Midlands Branch for an outstanding contribution to Agricultural Engineering. The aim is to encourage the use of imagination and creative skills to provide answers and developments within the broad remit of agricultural engineering. There is no formal application route or subject restriction. Contact the West Midlands Branch Secretary or Chairman with details of the 'invention or development'. The trophy is held for up to one year and is publicly presented at a branch meeting or other suitable occasion. The recipient is normally expected to be a member of the Institution.
West Midlands Branch Educational Trophy
These are three similar trophies held by the three colleges offering agricultural engineering education within the West Midlands Branch area:
The respective college, in consultation with the Branch, makes the selection of an outstanding student in any agricultural engineering related discipline. They are awarded annually by the college as part of their awards ceremony. In addition each winner together with the runner up is presented with free membership of the Institution for one year.
