Branches
The United Kingdom is divided into Regional Branches, each of which is responsible for running its own programme of technical and social meetings. All new members living in the UK are automatically joined to the Branch for the area covering their mailing address. Members wishing to join an alternative Branch may do so, but may be joined to only one Branch. Organising Committees endeavour to cover as wide a spectrum of technical interests as possible in the organisation of their programme of meetings.

Groups
The Technical Groups involve members with particular technical interests, including food engineering and technology, precision farming, forestry engineering, livestock engineering, machinery management, soil and water management, amenity and ecological engineering, renewable energy, vehicles, overseas development, agro-industrial products and pioneering technology. These activities provide a forum for technical updating and for meeting friends and colleagues within the industry.
