IAgrE and Young Engineers

IAgrE encourages people of any age to consider engineering, and ag-engineering in particular as a satisfying career.

Working with the younger generation is a high priority for IAgrE and we have a number of initiatives aimed at this group. Indeed, one activity sponsored by IAgrE was the making of a careers video by students (at Harper Adams University College) for students (at school) to help those at school make subject study choices that will assist them in selecting a career in engineering.

IAgrE also promotes and runs a Young Engineers Competition aimed at students in both Secondary School and Further Education colleges.

The Douglas Bomford Trust, a charity whose primary remit is supporting agricultural engineering, works closely with IAgrE, and supports our student recruitment programme. The Trust also has a limited number of awards to help support students in the sector.
