The Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE) is the professional body for engineers, scientists, technologists and managers in agricultural and allied landbased industries, including forestry, food engineering and technology, amenity, renewable energy, horticulture and the environment.

Forestry - The appliance of science, engineering and technology to the sustainable cultivation, of soil establishment, maintenance, and development of forests.
Agriculture - The appliance of science, engineering and technology to the sustainable cultivation of soil, production of crops for food, industry, energy and raising of livestock.
Environment - The appliance of science, engineering and technology to the sustainable maintenance of the Earth including, but not limited to water and air, including all layers of the atmosphere, organic and inorganic matter and living organisms and interacting natural systems.
Amenity - The appliance of science, engineering and technology to the sustainable development of features or benefits received from the environment that increase the satisfaction received by the user. Amenities may be both natural and man made including location or scenic view, sports facilities and forest paths to enhance access.
Horticulture - The appliance of science, engineering and technology to the sustainable cultivation of fruits, vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants.
