Career Profiles

You don't have to be a man to be an engineer!

 

Christine Clark and Vicky Hamilton have three things in common.......they are engineers, members of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE) and registered as Chartered Engineers with the Engineering Council.

 

Christine Clark CEng FIAgrE is a Fellow of the IAgrE and a Chartered Engineer. Christine initially graduated from the Cranfield Institute of Technology (now Cranfield University - Silsoe) in Agricultural Engineering and has also obtained a number of other qualifications in engineering design, manufacturing and engineering management. With over ten years of experience including employment with International Harvester, Leyland Vehicles and Massey Ferguson, Christine went on to set up her own successful business - Ascott Clark - Engineering and Management Consultants in 1990. The Company works both in the UK and overseas undertaking various consultancy, project engineering and management assignments, expert witness investigations for the legal and insurance professions, the relocation of manufacturing operations and the selling and sourcing of surplus plant and equipment.  Christine is also a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants.  Christine has also been active in the affairs of the IAgrE having served on both the ruling Council and the Executive management Committee as well as Branch Committees. 

 

Vicky Hamilton CEng MIAgrE is also a Chartered Engineer and a Member of IAgrE. Since graduating from Cranfield University - Silsoe, with a BEng (1st Class Honours) where she won a number of awards (including the Prize for the Best Environment Engineer, the SKF Trophy for Design), Vicky has worked in the UK, USA and Zimbabwe, primarily in the water industry. Vicky then joined Warren Associates, a firm of Consultants active in the environmental field. Starting as a Planning Engineer, she was then promoted to the position of Commercial Manager. Now an Estates Manager with an NHS Trust in the West of England, Vicky is active in the affairs of the IAgrE at a national level. She is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Managers and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
