Professional Registration

One of the major benefits of membership of a professional institution such as IAgrE is that it demonstrates that you have attained certain minimum standards of education and training. Indeed, membership of IAgrE (MIAgrE) has, over the years, become an internationally recognised professional qualification in its own right.

In addition, IAgrE as a licensed body of the Engineering Council (UK) and the Society for the Environment (SocEnv), is in a position to offer further evidence of your professional knowledge, commitment and engagement within our profession through Professional Registration. Such professional registration:

identifies you as having competences that employers value
indicates that your competence, and your commitment to professionalism, have been assessed by other professionals working in your area of expertise
demonstrates that your competence may be compared with standards applicable in other parts of the world
confirms that your commitment to professionalism is underwritten by the support of both IAgrE, as a national institution, and the licensing authorities (the Engineering Council (UK) and the Society for the Environment).

IAgrE can offer you access to the following registers

Chartered Engineer (CEng)
Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)
Incorporated Engineer (IEng)
Engineering Technician (EngTech)

How do I become registered?

Registration is possible only if you are first a member of IAgrE (or other professional body licensed by the EC(UK) and/or SocEnv) and secondly meet the relevant qualifications and experience requirements laid down by the EC(UK), SocEnv and IAgrE. If you wish to be considered for registration as an engineer and/or an environmentalist and are already a member of IAgrE, you should contact our Membership Department for further details.

It is possible, if suitably qualified and experienced, for an individual to be registered with one of the EC(UK) registers as well as the CEnv register.
