The little 'Grey Fergy', the tractor that revolutionised agriculture all over the world. This was the first tractor ever built at Coventry and production started in 1946. Over the next decade, more than 500,000 TE20s were produced at the plant and many can still be seen providing excellent service for farrmers throughout the globe. |
The aim of the Pioneering Technology Interest Group (PTIG) is to assist members to learn more about the great technological developments, the challenges that were overcome and how we may use this knowledge.
The United Kingdom has always been at the forefront of design and development, from the invention of the seed drill through to satellite mapping technology. The Pioneering Technology Interest Group exists to enable members be aware of this great heritage and help them learn from the steps of the agricultural engineering giants that have gone before.
The Group organises occasional visits and meetings, often in conjunction with other organisations, and has a small video library of interest to members and branches. The PTIG is overseen by West Midlands Branch.
