Royal Commission for Exhibition of 1851
The Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 has announced its awards programme for which applications are invited. The awards are in three main categories: Research Fellowships for post-doctoral science or engineering research, Industrial Fellowships and Industrial Design Studentships, awarded to engineering graduates taking Masters courses in industrial design. The awards are available to British and Commonwealth citizens. About six of each award are made.
The Commission's Industrial Fellowships are of particular significance to companies wishing to engage in research, since uniquely, they offer up to half the researcher's salary and all expenses over a three year period, worth up to £80,000. Applicants should have a good engineering degree and expect to gain a PhD during the Fellowship.
